I’ve decided to start adding some music vids here to lighten the mood a little, hehe. Kicking it off is the Distillers. I decided to not do a terribly well known song of theirs, but instead here is one of my favorites. I’ll try to mix up the genres a bit as I post these. I should be posting one a day if I can remember.

Oh yeah. I am sooo going there.

Whenever the topic of evolution gets brought up a gigantic line gets drawn in the sand and everyone starts to scurry to one side or the other. Well, I will admit, I keep my happy-ass planted right in the middle. I always get a good chuckle when either side of the argument shows just exactly HOW narrow-minded they are. I’m not saying I know the answers, BUT… theoretically the two CAN co-exist in harmony.

I’ll go over just exactly how they can fit in together.

1. The beginning

Now this is the only part of the argument I clearly want to run my head through a stack of bricks about. The Bible says the entire universe and world was created in seven days… so it must be true, right?

Well first off, I for one understand that the Bible was written by men thousands of years ago. I also understand that the Bible was written in the PERCEPTION of ancient man. At the time the world was thought to be flat. At the time the Roman Empire claimed to have conquered the entire world. We now know that to be false, but what makes the Bible free from error? I’m not claiming the Bible to be lie. The idea is that it was written by man inspired by God. What if the man inspired by God wasn’t sure exactly how to describe what he was seeing or feeling? How could ancient man really describe the cosmos if God showed it to him?

But, for argument’s sake, lets say the Bible is 100% true word for word. So the universe was built in seven days? What does the word day mean?

Day noun : the period of rotation of a celestial body on its axis.

Now what makes you so sure that creation was measured in Earth days?

God didn’t make Earth first, he made the heaven’s first, then he made Earth. Are we so self important that we truly believe that God measured the time it took to create everything in OUR unit of measurement.

Why couldn’t it be Jupiter days.
Why couldn’t it be days of the Sun.

Hell, the galaxy spins… could it be galactic days?

Well, since everything in space spins, maybe at the center of it all is Heaven. You know, the place God lives. Maybe he measured it in days according to where HE lives.

Lets take this to the next level.

Anyone how has read (or watched the tv show) Steven Hawkings theory of time knows that theoretically time is not stagnant. Time is not constant. In fact, gravity effects time. Closer you are to a black hole, for instances, the more time slows down. Even satellites up in space experience time in a different speed.
Also, the theory of relativity states that someone moving at the speed of light will also experience time differently from those who aren’t.

Now, theoretically speed and gravity both change how people experience time. Since we are all here on planet Earth, we experience time exactly the same. But does God live here on Earth? No? He lives in Heaven? Do you know if Heaven moves at the exact same speed as Earth? No? Do you know if Heaven experiences the exact same amount as gravity as Earth? No? So how do you know that when God created the Earth in seven days, those seven days where experienced exactly as seven days on Earth? How do you know those seven years to God were not experienced over a course of 4.5 billion years here on Earth?

2. Let There Be Light

Ok, I won’t spend much time on this one. In the bible God said, “Let there be light.” … and then… THE BIG BANG HAPPENED!!!!! Seriously folks! The entire concept of the Big Bang is that once there was nothing then all of a sudden there was a large flash of light and there was everything. We already established that time can be experienced differently based on many factors.

Scientists almost all agree that the universe started, but they have no idea from what. Well, maybe God said, “Let there be light.” and a the Big Bang is the spark of life.

It is stated in the bible that God created the ‘Heavens and the Earth’. Didn’t the Big Bang do that too?

Now some might argue the order of how it appeared in the Bible. But those people are reaching for anything that will help them not have to actually THINK about anything.

3. Monkey business

The biggest argument that creationists have is that we did not evolve from monkeys. Why not? Where does it state in the Bible… ‘Thou didst not come forth from primates’? So we take the idea that time passed differently for God, thus seven days equals 4.5 billion years. Now we picture in our mind God creating a human from a spec of dirt. Dirt or a single cell organism?

Humans did not discover germs and small organisms until modern times. So imagine if you watched evolution through a time lapsed camera (as God would experience time) then it would look as if man was made from dirt. What if the person inspired by God to write the Bible experienced the creation of man through the eyes of God. Then it would appear to the human mind to have happened exactly as it is described in the Bible.

4. The Tree of Knowledge

In Chapters 2 through 4 of Genesis in the Bible, the story of Eden is told. In summary, Adam and Eve decide to eat from the only tree they are not allowed to eat from, the Tree of Knowledge. Now, Satan was the one who convinced Eve eat from the tree of knowledge by telling her it contained all the knowledge of God. She in turn convinced Adam to eat from it as well.

Now this was such a terrible sin that Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden and the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE CURSED WITH MORTALITY.

So if you take the Bible literally and serious, then Adam and Eve gained God’s knowledge by eating fruit from the tree and caused humans to die.
If that is true… then where is the knowledge that were are paying for? If we didn’t get the knowledge of God from the tree, why was it so bad that the entire human race was cursed? If God stripped us of the knowledge then why was it such a big sin?

Well, you COULD say that God’s knowledge is science. What other creature on this planet understands science? What other creature uses science? What other creature manipulates science? The answer is none. We are the only creatures who understand, use, and manipulate science. We can cure diseases, travel the stars, build extraordinary technology, and understand events of the past. More importantly, we are beginning to create life. With advances in cloning and artificial technology, we humans are about to become the creator.

I don’t know about you, but it sounds like we are figuring out how to use some of the tools in God’s toolbox.

Conclusion

I’ve always said that I like to listen to both sides of every story because the truth is somewhere in the middle. In this argument, don’t focus on the differences, focus on the similarities. Realize that some guy at a podium in a church does not have any more insight into God than you do. Also realize that scientists don’t have all the answers like they try to act like they do.

Get all the details, make up your own mind.

I’ve gone on and on about politics recently. Well, actually I haven’t posted anything in quite a while but that is a discussion for another time. What I do wish to discuss right now is the state of politics and why I’m seriously leaning to abstaining from the political process this year.

Deep down inside I knew that Ron Paul had a snowball’s chance in hell to actually receive the nomination. And I also didn’t agree with him on every subject (i.e. the gold standard). However, I pushed for him for one reason… he represented a break from standard politics.

You see, the political process has been tainted by large corporations and the checkbooks of these businesses. While I truly believe this companies serve a purpose in modern society, their purpose is NOT to take part in politics. Corporations are not people and should not have a say or an unfair advantage in the political process. However, they do.

Corporations are able to generate money for political campaigns that individuals can’t even begin to touch (i.e. Ron Paul’s campaign). And guess who owns the major media? That is right, folks… corporations.

Does this make me mad at the corporations? Nope, not at all.

You see, in a free market society everyone and everything is free to look out for one’s best interest. Corporations are doing what it can to look out for their best interest, especially in the political process.

The problem is with all the ignorant, sheep minded people who are too stupid to look out for THEIR best interest. Or actually, their interest is simply Jersey Shore and the Super Bowl. We are now living in the days where entertainment and leisure has replace necessity and importance. There are so many people who will flat out admit, “I don’t follow politics.”

Really? Something so important as politics?!

So you don’t care that the government passed the NDAA allowing the military to enter into YOUR home and grab YOU and take YOU to a secret prison camp all while YOUR family has no clue where YOU are or that YOU’VE been taken?

I’m done beating my head against the wall because people refuse to look out for their own best interest while corporations constantly secure their interest. These are the same people who complain about the rich and large corporations while they shop at Walmart and eat at McDonald’s.

Like I stated earlier, I have no problems with corporations. “Don’t hate the player, hate the game.” Well the corporations are playing the game beautifully. It just sucks I’m on the losing side of general population.

It looks like another election year where we get to pick between two people who are not looking out for our interest. If you didn’t donate to a campaign, then you didn’t help pay for the million of tv ads you have to watch this year. And if you didn’t pay for them, do you think that politician will really look out for you? Do you think he will work to make your life easier? I think he’ll work for the people paying him.

I think limiting or eliminating campaign funding by corporations would be a wonderful start to balancing power. Sure it sucks for the companies, but it would be great for general population. If they do this then maybe I’ll get fired up about politics again.

But until I see something or someone that has my best interest in mind, I’ll just not vote. I’m not voting for someone else’s interest.

Ok, I promise to lighten up on all the political videos and posts and put some other topics out. However, this video comes after the South Carolina Primary with Ron Paul’s speech.

Remember, my vote for Paul is not necessarily a vote for the man… I’m voting for the message. I’m voting for liberty. I’m voting to send a clear message to our government that I want a change in direction and I want it now.

In fact, there are many historians who believe that mushrooms account for the origins of some of our most beloved traditions. But to be more precise, the amanita muscaria mushroom, with its red and white colors, is believed to have had a major impact in the shaping of our Christmas holiday.

While the winter solstice was a tradition from the Romans, the people of Northern Europe, including the Lapps of modern-day Finland and the Koyak tribes of central Russian, were the ones behind the Christmas Tree tradition. These people had a belief in what they called the “World Tree”. This tree was said to be the axis of all existance, with the roots stretching down into the Underworld, its branches reaching to the heavens, and the trunk firmly planted in the world.

The North Star was also celebrated in this culture. In fact, most believed that the very tip of the World Tree touched the North Star. Shamans believed that their spirit would travel up the World Tree towards the North Star and there they would reside in the heavens. This is an obvious origin to both the star on top of the Christmas tree and why Santa (the super shaman) lives in the North Pole.

But what does all this have to do with mushrooms? Or more specifically, the amanita muscaria?

Well, the amanita muscaria traditionally only grows under two types of trees, firs and evergreens. To the ancient people of northern europe, with no knowledge of agricultural science, they viewed the amanita muscaria as a ‘virgin birth’since under these trees grew what they thought was a plant without any seeds. Also, one can’t help but notice the similarities between the amanita muscaria growing under firs and evergreens, and red and white presents under a Christmas Tree.

Now obviously the amanita muscaria mushroom is known to have hallucinogenic properties to it. While these properties have played a vital role to the development of humans, especially when it comes to religion, humans were not the only animal to partake in the experiences of mushrooms. Possibly one of the most prominent animals in north Europe to eat the mushrooms was none other than the reindeer. Reindeer were very revered by the shamanistic people of this area. These reindeer often ate the amanita muscaria mushroom and would then ‘prance’around while under the influence of the mushroom.

One of the unique properties of the amanita muscaria mushroom is that the body does not fully metabolize the active ingredients that cause the hallucinations. Because of this it was common practice to drink the urine of someone under the influence of mushrooms. This would cause the drinking to experience the effect of the mushroom as well. In fact, it was a much safer way to experience the effects of the mushroom due to the body of the first to filter out all toxins. Many of the shamanistic people would seek out these reindeer with the sole purpose of drinking their urine for the effects of the amanita muscaria mushroom.

Another connection between the amanita muscaria mushroom and Christmas is how the early northern European people harvested these mushrooms for consumption. During the winter, the ground was very wet. Since the amanita muscaria mushroom grows under trees, the snow and the dew would cause these mushrooms to be very moist. Many early harvesters would take these mushrooms from under the tree and hang them on the tree to dry out. Sounds a lot like ornaments if you ask me.

Economist Peter Schiff states that the United States is in far worse shape than Europe. I’ve been saying this over and over again to people and it seems that because I’m not finished with school, I’m not credible enough to take serious. Well this gentleman is saying the same thing.

America is living beyond its means. The government spends more than it brings in. The country buys more than it produces. Families use credit beyond their ability to pay. The entire country and its population is in debt. Mark my words… this is going to have a very negative impact going forward.

Run for the hills!!!! No.. wait! Get in your bunkers!!

Well it is 2012. And it looks like cosmic fun has just begun. Thursday the Sun unleashed a large cloud of plasma and sent it hurling towards our planet.

What does that mean for us?

Well… some experts say that it may disrupt the Earth’s magnetic field as well as cause some problems to radio signal receptions especially at higher latitudes.

Antti Pulkkinen of the Space Weather Laboratory at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt states, “Our simulations show potential to pack a good punch to Earth’s near-space environment.  (But) we’re not looking at an extreme event here.”

“It’s more of a glancing blow,” states Pulkkinen.

NASA spotted this monstrous projectile Thursday morning heading our way at roughly 2 million miles per hour!

“We’re keeping a close eye on it,” Pulkkinen said.

Now there is one good benefit of this burst of Sunny Gas. These types of solar discharges help clean our atmosphere of space junk. I think we need to send a few politicians up to space this weekend.

After a ton of backlash by the general population as well as large internet companies like Google and Wikipedia, many members of Congress have withdrawn their support for the legislation. Roy Blunt, Orrin Hatch, John Boozman, Marco Rubio, Chuck Grassley, Mark Kirk, and Jim DeMint have all withdrawn from supporting this bill. This is a good sign considering Hatch, Rubio, Blunt and Boozman were all sponsors of the bill.

Continue to push Congress and let them know that this legislation is NOT what we the people want.
